“Optimizing Indonesia’s Bioenergy Sector”
Bioenergy offers considerable potential to advance Indonesia’s emissions reduction efforts and its Net Zero Emission target by 2060. Nevertheless, the optimization of Indonesia’s bioenergy sector remains constrained by the absence of a comprehensive legal framework, limited infrastructure readiness, high technological costs, and external regulatory challenges at the global level. In response to these obstacles, Indonesia must establish a clear and integrated regulatory framework accompanied by supportive policies and investment incentives to accelerate the sustainable development of bioenergy as a key pillar of its energy transition.
