This year, we proudly present the theme of THE 16^TH BUSINESS LAW COMPETITION: PIALA HAFNI SJAHRUDDIN 2026 such as “Elevating Real Estate Law as the Cornerstone of Legal Certainty to Mobilize Capital and Sustain National Economic Transformation” to emphasize the importance of strengthening real estate law as the primary foundation for creating legal certainty in Indonesia’s property sector. This theme reflects the need to integrate various legal regimes, ranging from agrarian law, contract law, security interests, taxation, to capital markets, in order to comprehensively address the complexity of existing issues. Furthermore, this theme emerges as a response to the still-suboptimal investment potential of the property sector, resulting from a legal framework that remains fragmented and has yet to provide long-term certainty. Through a holistic approach, participants are encouraged to analyze a range of challenges, such as fiscal policy uncertainty, land tenure pluralism, and bankruptcy issues in real estate. Ultimately, this theme affirms the strategic role of real estate law in driving capital mobilization and realizing a sustainable national economic transformation.
