"Enhancing the Energy Transition: Developing Renewable Energy Project through Equity Investments."
About THE 14TH ICDC
THE 14TH INTERNAL CONTRACT DRAFTING COMPETITION 2026 is a flagship program organized by the External Affairs and Competition Division Business Law Society board of 2026, proudly returning for its 14th edition. This competition offers an inclusive platform for all members of IKM FH UI to sharpen their legal skills, gain hands-on experience, and showcase their abilities in a dynamic, practice-oriented environment. Designed to bridge academic learning with real-world application, the competition aims to equip participants with practical competencies essential for professional legal careers.
Our Theme
This year, The 14th ICDC carries the theme “Enhancing the Energy Transition: Developing Renewable Energy Project through Equity Investments.” As Indonesia accelerates their departure from fossil fuel dependency to the use of renewable energy, the legal frameworks governing renewable energy investment have grown increasingly sophisticated. Since the Paris Agreement ratified through Law Number 16 of 2016, Indonesia has committed to ambitious emission reduction targets under its Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (E-NDC). The country further holds an estimated 3,686 Gigawatt (GW) of untapped renewable energy potential, which the Government is actively unlocking through regulatory frameworks including the 2025–2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) and Presidential Regulation Number 112 of 2022. Yet large-scale solar power development remains capital-intensive and legally complex, necessitating structured financing mechanisms that offer both liquidity and investor protection.

UPSKILLING SESSION
Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition (CDNC) is a competition where contestants draft a contract based on a provided case position. Teams selected for the finals will simulate a live negotiation process. During this final stage, team members will role-play as opposing parties to negotiate the terms of the contract they previously drafted and submitted. The competition tests contestants on their legal drafting skills, negotiation strategies, and ability to apply contract law in a practical setting.
The 14th ICDC also offers a free upskilling session to help participants build their knowledge, strengthen their fundamentals, and prepare to compete with confidence!
